Youth Day Valedictory Celebrations – Dundra Kumaraswamy Inspires the Nation
The valedictory function of National Youth Day was celebrated grandly under the auspices of the Telangana Citizens Council at the Telangana Saraswathi Parishad Auditorium. The event carried the inspiring slogan: “Awaken Youth – Lead the Nation.”

The program was graced by Shri Dundra Kumaraswamy, National President of the BC Dal, as the Guest of Honour, and Shri Banda Prakash, MLC and Deputy Chairman of Telangana Legislative Council, as the Chief Guest.
Inspiring Words of Dundra Kumaraswamy:
Delivering his powerful message, Dundra Kumaraswamy emphasized the central role of youth in nation-building. He recalled the immortal words of Swami Vivekananda at the Chicago conference:
“Youth is the power of the Nation” – a message that is alive even today.
Kumaraswamy reminded that:
The backbone of the country is its youth.
A majority of India’s population consists of young people, making them the greatest national wealth.
Unity among youth can create a new world.
He highlighted India’s scientific progress:
“In projects like Chandrayaan-3, many of the scientists who contributed were under the age of 30. That is the strength of Indian youth.”
Honoring Sacrifices of Youth in History
Kumaraswamy inspired the audience by recalling the bravery of great revolutionaries:
“The sacrifice of Bhagat Singh is priceless. His call of ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ still resonates across generations.”
He also reflected on student movements that shaped history, noting:
“From the gates of universities, many struggles have emerged. The Telangana movement was fueled by the sacrifices of Osmania University students, with Srikanth Chary’s martyrdom igniting the flame of the agitation.”
Through his speech, Dundra Kumaraswamy called upon today’s youth to recognize their strength, stay united, and take responsibility for shaping the destiny of the nation.
Banda Prakash’s Call to Youth:
Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash echoed the same spirit, urging:
“Awaken Youth – Lead the Nation must become a widely spread slogan.”
“You are tomorrow’s heroes; the future rests in your hands. The destiny of the nation can be changed by your energy and determination.”
Dundra Kumara Swamy,who motivated the youth to bring out their inner potential and remain focused on their goals despite challenges. He also warned against the dangers of drug abuse and alcoholism, describing them as temporary pleasures that ultimately destroy life.
